AYF South San Fernando Valley “Simon Vratsian” Juniors
ENCINO— On December 23, the Armenian Youth Federation South San Fernando Valley “Simon “Vratsian” Juniors dropped off over 250 unwrapped toys to the Providence Tarzana Medical Center. The South Valley AYF Juniors had been organizing a community toy drive for children at the Tarzana Hospital who were going to spend their holidays away from home.
The AYF Juniors hand delivered the presents they had collected to the hospital and were welcomed by the Hospital’s foundation director, volunteer director, and staff coordinator.
Following the unloading of the toys into the Providence Hospital Foundation office, the staff explained the significance of this toy drive and how the work of the AYF Juniors is directly impacting these children.
“This toy drive was special for us because it gives us a chance to experience the joy of sharing and caring right here in our local community,” said Kami Arabian, chairperson of the “Simon Vratsian” Chapter.

The “Simon Vratsian” Juniors worked tirelessly in the last month collecting toys to ensure that they were able to provide toys for as many children as they possibly could. “I had the pleasure of witnessing all of the time and effort these AYF Juniors put in while they were collecting toys and I could honestly say that I could not be more proud,” added Hrag Tomassian, AYF Juniors Advisor.
The “Simon Vratsian” Chapter would like to thank all the members of the community who donated and took part in this toy drive. We thank you for your support and hope to continue this tradition the following year.
The AYF Juniors is a grassroots community organization for Armenian-American youth specifically from the ages of 8 to 16 years old. As an extension of the AYF and its core values, the AYF Juniors connect youth with their Armenian heritage, and politically and socially engages them with critical issues facing Armenians.
