YEREVAN—Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on Wednesday met with Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Andrei Galbur, abolishing the visa regime between the countries.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed steps to further develop ties between the two countries including trade/economic, scientific/technical and cultural sectors.
Nalbandian and Galbur highlighted issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda, urgent international and regional issues.
The interlocutors also briefed one another on new agreements and developments with the European Union.
Regional conflicts, including the Nagnorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict, were discussed during the meeting. Nalbandian and Galbur agreed that all conflicts should be resolved peacefully. Regarding the Karabakh conflict, Nalbandian presented the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries and Armenia, committed a peaceful solution to the Karabakh conflict.
The Ministers at the end of the meeting signed an agreement to eliminate the visa regime between Armenia and Moldova, including agreements to cooperate in the fields of tourism, science and education. Nalbandian and Galbur also signed a plan of consultations for the 2017-2018 fiscal year.
Discussion topics during the meeting also included intensification of inter-parliamentary ties, conduct of consultations between the Foreign Ministries and deepening of cooperation within the framework of international organizations.
