WATERTOWN, Mass.—The Armenian Museum of America (AMA) will open its doors free of charge on Sat., Sept. 26, as part of Smithsonian magazine’s 11th annual Museum Day Live! On this day only, participating museums across the United States emulate the spirit of the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington, D.C.-based facilities, which offer free admission everyday, and open their doors for free to those who download a Museum Day Live! ticket.

The Armenian Museum of America holds the largest collection of Armenian artifacts in the United States, which includes highlights such as photographs by Yousuf Karsh and Urartian artifacts, among many other contemporary artworks and historical objects.

The Museum Day Live! ticket will be available for download beginning in August by visiting Smithsonian.com/museumday. Visitors who present the Museum Day Live! ticket will gain free entrance for two at participating venues for one day only. One ticket per household, per e-mail address is permitted.

The Armenian Museum of America is located at 65 Main St., in Watertown. Museum hours are Thursday to Sunday, 12-6 p.m.
