NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y.—On Oct. 23, the Armenian Relief Society (ARS) New York “Erebouni” Chapter held a member recruitment and fundraiser at the lovely home of its member Nayda Voskerijian. ARS members and guests enjoyed a full array of delicious foods while meeting old and new friends.
“Erebouni” chairperson Lena Orangian presented an overview of the ARS to the guests, and also described the current efforts to raise funds for the rebuilding of one of the Soseh Kindergartens in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabagh). Orangian detailed how the new kindergarten building would be structured and said that more than $600,000 has been raised thus far towards this worthy cause. She added that a percentage of the funds raised from the evening’s event would be allocated for the kindergarten. Orangian concluded by praising the activities of the ARS and strongly encouraged non-members to join its ranks and to work toward supporting Armenian communities locally and abroad.
Guests were then introduced to the invited representative from the Pampered Chef Company. Several easy-to-prepare baking demonstrations were conducted utilizing cookware from the company. Many items were viewed and ordered from the company after guests viewed the deliciously baked goods.
The event ended on a high note with the “Erebouni” Chapter achieving its goal of fundraising and gaining several new ARS members. The chapter extends its gratitude to Voskerijian and to all those who attended the event to support this worthy cause.
