The Armenian Youth Federation (AYF) New Jersey “Arsen” Senior Chapter is proud and excited to host the 83rd annual AYF-YOARF Olympic Games this Labor Day Weekend. The community is eager to welcome guests for a memorable weekend with good friends, great competition, and the AYF spirit. Every detail from the Alumni Dance to the Monday farewell picnic has been planned with weekend guests in mind.

The weekend festivities kick off Thurs., Sept. 1 with an AYF social at the World of Beer. The event will start at 8:30 p.m. and will be full of reunions. Make sure you don’t miss out on the first night of fun.

The sporting events kick-off on Friday morning, with Golf and Tennis. The AYF golfers will tee off at 10:30 a.m. and the Alumni Golf outing will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Rutgers University Golf Course. We encourage all Alumni to participate in this wonderful event. A donation of $125 includes 18-holes of golf, a golf cart, lunch and prizes. Tennis will start at 9 a.m. and will be held at the Busch Tennis Center. The swimming events will take place Friday evening at Bridgewater YMCA starting at 5 p.m. Cheer on your team and don’t forget to stay through the relays, which promise to be exciting.

Two events will be held Friday evening: the AYF Alumni Dance and the AYF dance. The dance welcomes all AYF Alumni and friends to enjoy the Michael Gostanian Ensemble. This is a chance for old friends to come together for great food and music. Dance admission includes a huge mezza selection and a look back in history at some of your favorite Olympic moments.

The AYF dance will feature The Massoyans & Friends. Get ready for an incredible party with some of New Jersey’s finest musicians, featuring the extremely talented brothers Shant & Raffi Massoyan, the tremendous Steve Vosbikian on Clarinet, and maestro Vicken Makoushian on the keys. Come join your fellow AYF friends for a wonderful night of dancing.

On Saturday morning, the AYF softball tournament will be held at Johnson Park beginning at 9 a.m. Bring the whole family, root for your chapter in the Softball games, and enjoy the many activities at this historic park. Located on the banks of the Raritan River in Piscataway and Highland Park, this 473-acre park is extremely popular and filled with activities all year long.

On Saturday evening, the incredibly talented Kevork Artinian and his band will provide non-stop entertainment, with a mix of modern and traditional Armenian music for all to enjoy! Don’t miss out on this Saturday Night Spectacular filled with dancing, singing, and so much more.

On Sunday, please join us starting at 9 a.m. for the track and field events at Rutgers University Bauer Track and Field Complex. Located directly behind the Louis Brown Athletic Center, the Bauer Track and Field complex is one of the finest in the nation. The complex hosted the BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2004 and 2005. Our athletes and spectators will have a wonderful facility to enjoy the day of events and competition.

. The community is eager to welcome guests for a memorable weekend with good friends, great competition, and the AYF spirit.

Sunday night is the most anticipated evening of them all—the announcement of the trophy winners and some of the best entertainment around! Come enjoy the amazing entertainment of the AYF Olympic All-Stars! The weekend would not be complete without the musical stylings of some of the most talented Armenian musicians of our time! Featuring Onnik Dinkjian (vocals), John Berberian (oud), Hachig Kazarian (clarinet), Mal Barsamian (saxophone), Bruce Gigarjian (dumbeg) and Ara Dinkjian (keyboard).
