GLENDALE—Ardy Kassakhian has pulled off a rare clean sweep on the endorsement front in his campaign in the 43rd Assembly District.
Thirteen of fifteen elected officials in the City of Glendale have endorsed Kassakhian, Glendale’s City Clerk. None are endorsing his opponent, City Councilmember Laura Friedman.
“Even among Ms. Friedman’s colleagues on the City Council, three are endorsing Ardy Kassakhian and none are endorsing Ms. Friedman,” said Kassakhian’s political consultant Larry Levine.
“This is a clear case of ‘listen to those who know them best.’ These local elected officials work closely with these two candidates every day and they have unanimously chosen Ardy Kassakhian as the best choice for State Assembly,” Levine continued.
“There are 17 elected officials in Glendale, including city councilmembers, school boardmembers, college boardmembers, and two citywide office holders. When you drop Ardy and his opponent from the list, that leaves 15 others. Of those, 13 are endorsing Ardy and none are endorsing Ms. Friedman. Two have opted to stay out,” said Levine.
Glendale elected officials endorsing Kassakhian include: City Treasurer Rafi Manoukian, Councilmembers Vartan Gharpetian, Zareh Sinanyan and Ara J. Najarian; College Board President Anita Quiñonez Gabrielian, Vice President Dr. Armine Hacopian, Board Clerk Ann H. Ransford, and Board Members Dr. Vahé Peroomian and Anthony P. Tartaglia; and Board of Education President Dr. Armina Gharpetian, Vice President Nayiri Nahabedian, Board Clerk Gregory Krikorian, and Board Member Christine Walters.
