Krekorian Names Kzirian to LA’s Innovation and Performance Commission

LOS ANGELES- Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Krekorian officially appointed Armenian-American community leader Andrew Kzirian to the city’s Innovation and Performance Commission on Tueday. The City Council unanimously approved Kzirian’s appointment, after which he took the oath of office to assume his new role. As a Commissioner for the City of Los Angeles, Kzirian will work with other appointees to improve the responsiveness, efficiency and quality of city services. Kzirian, a Los Angeles resident and the former Executive Director of the ANCA-Western Region, works as a regulatory compliance associate in the field of investments.

“Andrew is exactly the kind of person we need serving the City of Los Angeles,” said Councilmember Krekorian. “He is dynamic, a proven community leader and a problem solver with many great ideas that will improve our city. Andrew’s smarts and incredible energy will greatly enhance our Innovation and Performance Commission.”

“I’d like to thank Councilmember Krekorian for this honor,” said Commissioner Andrew Kzirian. “I’m excited to work on ideas that will make the city more sustainable, including energy conservation and and employing new technologies to increase service delivery. I think this commission is the perfect way to tackle these issues and I’m ready to get started.”

The Innovation and Performance Commission makes recommendations on the use of the Innovation Fund and sponsors awards that recognize Innovation within the City of Los Angeles. The commission provides the Mayor and the City Council with the benefit of private and public sector expertise in innovation, technology and performance management.
