Special appearances will follow by creative team Vahe Berberian, Vahik Pirhamzei, and Hrant Tokhatyan in post-screening Q&A
LOS ANGELES—“3 Weeks in Yerevan,” a new comedy by the Award-winning collaboration of writer-director Vahe Berberian and producer-co-director Vahik Pirhamzei, will have its North American premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday, September 14, at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. Sponsored by the ARPA Foundation, the premiere will feature a post-screening Q&A with the film’s three leading men Berberian, Pirhamzei (who also star in the film), and actor-comedian Hrant Tokhatyan.
Kicking-off its official run on Friday, September 16, at Laemmle’s Town Center in Encino, the Playhouse in Pasadena, and MGN Five Star Cinemas in Glendale, “3 Weeks in Yerevan” will play in cities worldwide through the fall.
In Armenian with English subtitles, the movie tells the story of a Lebanese Armenian and an Iranian Armenian (Berberian and Pirhamzei), who go to Yerevan to make a movie with their partner (Tokhatyan). The two friends arrive with great expectations, but soon realize they have to deal with many unexpected challenges, because in Yerevan, nothing goes as planned.
Berberian’s script, based on a story by Narbeh Nazarian, is rich with subtle humor, wit, and complex characters. The comedy is performed by an A-list Armenian cast and some of the most accomplished Armenian actors in entertainment such as Ashot Ghazaryan, Narek Duryan, Khoren Levonyan, and Levon Harutyunyan. The movie features many cameos by such luminaries as Tata Simonyan, Nune Yesayan, Inga and Anoush, Eric, Christine Pepelyan, Sushan Petrosyan, and Aramo.
“3 Weeks in Yerevan” first premiered in Yerevan, Armenia on Thursday, August 4, where audiences enthusiastically received it.
The Los Angeles premiere event will begin with a reception at 7pm; the screening at 8pm; followed by a Q&A with the three leads.

Star of the record-breaking Los Angeles release of the 2012 comedy “My Uncle Rafael,” Pirhamzei states, “We expect a sold out first weekend in Los Angeles, so it’s important to purchase tickets soon, especially the matinees which are always a true test for any film on opening weekend.”
Pirhamzei also affirms, “Since previews of the film have tested incredibly well with all audiences, not just Armenians, it has a great chance to remain in theaters for several weeks. But, the movie needs to receive the early support it deserves, and then the non-Armenian audiences will have a chance to enjoy it as well.”
‘3 Weeks in Yerevan’ is distributed by Richmond Media Entertainment, a Los Angeles based full service entertainment company known for film and stage development and production. Past films include My Uncle Rafael, Guardian Angel and popular stage productions Honest Liars and I don’t need a Psychologist.
