YEREVAN (ArmeniaNow.com)—Cinema-goers in Armenia had another opportunity to watch a large selection of animated films as part of a week-long international festival, ReAnimania, which closes on Thursday.

The motto of the festival was, “Life is a picture, make the picture alive.”

According to ReAnimania founder and director Vrej Kassouny, the festival is recieving more international recognition. “Whereas in 2009 the festival audience was barely 2,000, today it has surpassed 10,000,” he told reporters.

This year, nine full-length and short animated films dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide were screened as part of ReAnimania.

“Anahit,” a 2014 full-length animation film based on the fairy tale by Ghazaros Aghayan, was recognized as the best film of Armenian production at the festival.
