CRESCENTA VALLEY—The Armenian National Committee of America, Crescenta Valley Chapter has announced its endorsement of Mike Claessens, Sophal Ear and Aram Ordubegian for Crescenta Valley Town Council. All three candidates are running in anticipation of serving the Crescenta Valley community upon their election.
“Without doubt, the election of Mike Claessens, Sophal Ear and Aram Ordubegian will ensure Crescenta Valley’s shared community values are realized,” said Armine Sherikian, ANCA-CV Chair.
Mike Claessens is currently a CV Town Council member. His primary goal is to assure that the Crescenta Valley community is represented and not forgotten as candidates for the County Supervisor take positions and make promises during the new supervisor elections. He would also like to beautify the Foothill Boulevard commercial corridor by working with the various County Staff and business, to implement affective enforcement of the current code, and design and install traffic medians along Foothill Boulevard.
Sophal Ear has served on the Glendale Unified School District’s Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee, Glendale Community College Measure G Committee and on the board of many other non-profit organizations. His goal is to better embody and realize the desires of residents and businesses in Crescenta Valley. Moreover, he would like to fight to improve all schools, as he is a father of four kids, and do right for the community and its residents because the community deserves better local representation.
Aram Ordubegian is currently the president of the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce and a member of Town Council’s Land Use Committee. His goal is to see the Town Council continue to be the premiere forum for residents and businesses to have their voices heard regarding the various concerns in the community. In order to convert the concerns of residents and businesses into concrete actions by the County, he would like the Town Council to better advocate for the community before the County and its various departments.
A total of nine candidates are running for Crescenta Valley Town Council. Three candidates will secure the town council position. This year, Crescenta Valley Elections will be held over 2 days. The election will take place Friday November 6, 2015 5PM-8PM and Saturday November 7, 2015 from 8AM-5PM at St. Luke’s of the Mountains Episcopal Church located at 2563 Foothill Blvd. La Crescenta, CA 91214.
ANCA-CV encourages community members to cast their ballots on Election Day. It is important to understand that every vote counts. Voting is a central way of making the community’s voice heard and their needs implemented. As part of ANCA CV’s Hye Votes initiative, community members are encouraged to engage in the electoral process by getting out to vote and making the needs of the community heard.
