YEREVAN (Armenpress) – Both Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian and High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy / Vice-President of the Commission Federica Mogherini expressed satisfaction in relation to the launch of the negotiations on a new, legal framework document during the meeting in Brussels on December 7th. In this context, Minister Nalbandian hoped that active discussions will lead Armenia and the European Union to reach an agreement over the new framework document which will display the depth and volume of bilateral relations and will set new landmarks for mutually beneficial cooperation.

Minister Nalbandian stressed the importance of EC’s decision about the differentiation principle for partners.

Both sides also touched upon the issue of visa liberalization during the meeting.

Minister Nalbandian informed the High Representative about the December 6 referendum in Armenia and its results.

The interlocutors referred to international fight against terrorism, situation in the Middle East and some other regional and international problems, and discussed the implementation process of the agreement over Iran’s nuclear program.

Foreign Minister of Armenia introduced Federica Mogherini to the efforts of Armenia and OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs aimed at peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Federica Mogherini once again stated EU’s support for the activities of OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs.
