YEREVAN (ARKA)–April 11. Armenia’s ambassador to Israel Armen Melkonyan (seated in Cairo, Egypt) traveled late last week to Jerusalem to convey a note of protest to the Israeli foreign ministry, the Israeli newspaper “Haaretz” reported.

The note of protest, handed to Dan Oriyan, head of Eurasian affairs department, demands that Israel stop supplying weapons to Azerbaijan, which are then used in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, reports izrus.co.il. In particular, the document singles out the supply of Harop drones.

“Haaretz” said that Melkonyan refused to speak about the details of his meeting with senior Israeli diplomats, but he did not deny the newspaper’s report. The Israeli foreign ministry’s press service declined to comment on this information, as well as on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Last week, the Armenian service of “Voice of America” reported about supplies of latest anti-tank missiles with laser guidance to Azerbaijan just the two days before its aggression against Karabakh.
