The ARS Javakhk Fund Committee is organizing a fundraising dinner to benefit the expansion of the Akhalkalak Youth Center in Javakhk.
LOS ANGELES—The ARS Javakhk Fund Committee is organizing its efforts in preparation of a fundraising dinner to benefit the expansion of the Akhalkalak Youth Center in Javakhk. The event will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 7 p.m. at Kavar Restaurant, located at 4777 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90029. Tickets are $50 per person.
The fundraiser will facilitate the purchase of land adjacent to the Akhalkalak Youth Center that is currently available for sale and allow for building of a children’s playground. This new endeavor undertaken by the ARS Javakhk Fund Committee is but an example of the Armenian Relief Society’s solid commitment to advancing humanitarian aid activities to where Armenian communities may exist throughout the world and helping youth preserve their national identity.
Initiated to offer continuing assistance to Armenians in Javakhk, the Akhalkalak Youth Center is one of three youth centers in the region that the ARS of Western USA’s Javakhk Fund Committee continues to sponsor. These youth centers serve as sites where Armenian youth can connect with and have an outlet to the outside world, strengthen and enrich their knowledge, preserve their identity and remain rooted to their ancestral land. The youth center in Akhalkalak plays a major role in this regard and draws in a large number of youth to benefit from its various activities.
The ARS of Western USA’s Javakhk Fund Committee is committed to raising funds for this worthwhile cause and requests the community’s support to help attain this goal.
