WASHINGTON (Combined Sources)— On December 10, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Karen Mirzoyan met with  U.S. Congressman Adam Schiff, followed by a meeting with a group of regional experts to begin the conclusion of his visit. During the meeting with Congressman Schiff, issues related to the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Nagorno Karabakh, the provocations on the Line of Contact by the Azerbaijani armed forces, and the U.S. humanitarian assistance to Artsakh were all discussed.

During Mirzoyan’s meeting with a group of regional experts, the Artsakh Foreign Minister briefed on the process of independent state building in Artsakh, as well as the economic situation and development prospects. Answering the experts’ questions, Karen Mirzoyan touched upon the challenges the Karabakh is facing, particularly the current situation in the process of peaceful settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict.

The Artsakh Foreign Minister’s visit to Washington was concluded with a reception held in the same evening in the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the USA, which was attended by diplomats, representatives of the American Armenian organizations and community, religious leaders, and journalists.

RA Ambassador to the U.S. Tigran Sargsyan and Artsakh Foreign Minister Karen Mirzoyan addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. In his speech, Mirzoyan expressed his gratitude for the cordial reception and support provided to Artsakh and stressed the importance of national unity in the settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict.
