LA CRESCENTA—Western Prelate Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian the Religious and Executive Councils, and the “Harut Barsamian Scholarship Fund” Committee mourn the loss of benefactor Dr. Harut Barsamian, who passed away on Friday, November 20.

In commendation for his years of philanthropy, in 2011 Dr. Barsamian was awarded the “Prince of Cilicia” medal by His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia. Dr. Barsamian has been a generous supporter of the Western Prelacy, including establishing a scholarship fund to assist Armenian college students. He has also given generously to community organizations and institutions, among them Forty Martyrs Church and the Armenian Center in Orange County bearing his name.

On this sad occasion the Prelate and the Prelacy’s leadership conveyed condolences to his wife Tamara, sister Armineh Bogharian and her children Shakeh and Manuel, and Barsamian and Bogharian extended families.
