STEPANAKERT (ARMENPRESS)—President Serzh Sarkisian visited the north-east defense line on November 19 before departing for a working visit to Nagorno-Karabakh.

Sarkisian toured units stationed near the border with Azerbaijan and was accompanied by Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan and other high ranking command staff of the Armed Forces. Sarkisian also visited defense positions and familiarized himself with the combat readiness of the Armed Forces and other ongoing army-building projects.

Sarkisian, who also serves as Commander-In-Chief, attended simulation exercises conducted by the units of the 2nd Army Corps and reviewed a report by the Commander of the Army Corps on the atmosphere and issues of the units under his command. In one of the units the President participated in the opening ceremony of a newly constructed canteen.

Sarkisian left the border region for a working visit to Nagorno-Karabakh today.
