STEPANAKERT (Artsakhpress)—Jivan Avetisyan’s new film “The Last Inhabitant” is about the only inhabitant that remained in an Armenian village after deportation will be released soon. The film was created on the basis of Tsovinar Khachatryan’s “Gyurjevan’s Last Inhabitant” story.

The film director Jivan Avetisyan informed “Artsakhpress” that by entitling the film “The Last Inhabitant”, they did not want to drift away from the story’s title, as the events described in the film may take place in any village or city. “They are of universal character”, he said, adding that the film is about a conflict, which unites millions of people from different countries. The film is about friendship, love and self-sacrifice originating from love. More than 30 actors starred in the film.

According to Avetisyan, well-known actors from Iran, Lithuania, Greece, the United States and Russia also starred in the film. The film is currently in post-production stage of the work.

In a response to the question whether a new film will be be shot about Artsakh, the film director mentioned that there is still a lot of work to do, and there will be a lot of opportunities to talk about new projects.

“The film was shot in Artsakh, in my home village Khachmach. I am grateful to the villagers for warm reception and friendly atmosphere,” he noted, adding that the film will be soon released in Artsakh.

Armenian-American singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and lead vocalist of the rock band System of a Down Serj Tankian wrote the music for the film.
