A bus explosion in Yerevan leaves 2 dead and many injured
YEREVAN—A bus exploded at the intersection of Halabyan and Arzoumanyan streets at 9:51 local time, leaving one dead and eight injured, reported news.am.
According to Armenia’s Emergecy Situations Ministry, first respondents, emergency crews and two fire engines rushed to the scene. The ministry also clarified that earlier reports putting the fatalities at three were a mistake, resulting from the initial panic after the incident.
The explosion occurred on the 63rd line of the municipal bus route. The injured have been transported to Armenia Medical Center for treatment.
Yerevan Police spokesperson Ashot Aharonyan told Yerkir Media that an investigation is underway.
