January 11, 2010

GLENDALE, CA – The Armenian National Committee-Western Region (ANC-WR) is proud to announce that it will be participating in the “Give A Day. Get a Disney Day” program. The initiative is organized by the community service-inspiring HandsOn Network in collaboration with Disney Theme Parks.

Beginning January 1, 2010, individuals will be able to sign up to volunteer their time with the ANC-WR and/or its local chapters, give back to the community and receive complimentary one day admission to Disneyland or Walt Disney World.

“What makes the ANC the strongest and most effective Armenian American grassroots public affairs organization is its ability to educate, motivate, and activate in order to increase civic engagement. In doing so, we help do our part to build better communities,” said Raffi Kassabian, a member of the ANC-WR Board of Directors. “Through the ‘Give A Day. Get A Disney Day’ Program the ANC hopes to engage a new generation of volunteers from across the western United States to become active and remain active within their local chapters and communities.”

The “Give A Day. Get A Disney Day” program will continue until the 1,000,000 ticket is given out or until December 15, 2010, whichever occurs first. Interested volunteers can sign up at www.disneyparks.com or for more information about how to sign up you can also contact the ANC-WR office and speak with Haig Hovsepian, the program coordinator for the ANC-WR.
