ARTSAKH REPRESENTATIVE TO ATTEND ANCA-ER BANQUET

Robert Avetisyan Will Also Speak at ANCA-ER Workshop

DETROIT, MI – The Armenian National Committee of America Eastern Region (ANCA-ER) announced that Mr. Robert Avetisyan, Permanent Representative of Nagorno Karabakh Republic will be at the 9th Annual ANCA-ER Banquet on November 14 at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel. In addition, he will speak to the youth earlier in the day at the ANCA-ER Advocacy Workshop.

The workshop will take place on November 14 at St. Sarkis Church Lillian Arakelian Fellowship Hall 10:00-4:00 p.m. Topics include Hai Tahd 101, Political Advocacy, and Grassroots Activism featuring experts in the field and hand-on exercises. The workshop is free and open to the community, but preference is given to AYF and other youth organizations. Due to limited space, please, RSVP at ancaer@anca.org. Lunch will be provided.

Mr. Avetisyan began working in the NKR Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999, where he served in a number of analytical and political departments. In 2008, he was appointed Counselor of the NKR Permanent Representation in the United States and in February 2009, NKR President Bako Sahakyan appointed Avetisyan to his current post. Mr. Avetisyan holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.

Since his appointment, Avetisyan has continuously affirmed Karabakh’s commitment to finding a peaceful solution to the conflict with Azerbaijan, and has maintained that the recognition of Karabakh’s independence neither violates the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, nor threatens its existence.

The banquet, sponsored by the ANCA Eastern Region Endowment Fund, will begin with an elegant cocktail reception and silent auction at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner and awards ceremony at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015.
